Oopsie! Day 10

Today ended up being a hiatus from the silence. It really couldn't be helped. There was an engagement (yay!), an uh-oh at work (boo), and I had to present to the executive board of my company on a really, really stupid subject. Anyway, the day demanded that I talk, so I talked. I don't plan on keeping up the habit--I really am committed to being silent, but today called for talking. End of story.

The pinacle of my silence today was my ridiculous trip to the gym. I ran two painstaking miles on the treadmill, then hit the spa for steam, sauna, hottub, and hot shower. I figure those are the features that set Lifetime apart from the cheaper gyms that I will ultimately be forced to join, so why not take advantage of them? It really makes the most sense.

*NB: Evan, can you un-cancel my gym membership? Just for a month? I'll cancel for real in May. I'm just enjoying way too much right now. I can't part with it yet. This is for real. Thanks!

So tomorrow I have a fabulous, uber-silent, tres-cheap day planned! I'm going to the library (forever the friend of the poor, subjugated English major), maybe the art museum, and a little cafe reading later in the day. I'm also going window shopping at Somerset, because I need to remember what it feels like to buy clothes, so that eventually I can work up to a full on shopping trip again. Ah, the woes of entry-level pay...

Anyway, I really, truly am looking forward to getting quiet again, and I'm eager to explore even deeper, more profound [read: insane] levels of quietude.

Boo, put your listening ears on. Mommas back in shush mode.
