I could be tempted, because I know now how to train. But oh MAN training on my own sounds scary! The course is gorgeous—it’s through the largest city park in Western Euroope, which has rolling hillsides, manicured English gardens, state homes and tons more. It would basically be like running Cranbrook times ten, with no dirt paths or stupid roots to trip over.
But enough about running (blah). This weekend was great, and I got a little cherry on top of my sundae yesterday afternoon, too! I had just left the internet café where I had made a few calls home to some VIPs and I decided to stop at a café and have a cuppa tea and read the Sunday paper. I found this mahogany-panelled, granite-tabled little nook that seemed very classy and hip, so I sat down and ordered my cup. No sooner than I can open my paper, and BEHOLD WHAT CAME OVER THE SPEAKERS!
But yeah, other than that, Friday I saw Pirates of the Caribbean. Eh, not that great, but what WAS cool were the Dyson hand dryers in the bathroom. Feast your eyes on what I at first took to be something to hold babies, but in fact is something used to dry hands!
You put your hands in the holes at the top and pull your hands out slowly, and in about 1.5 seconds your hands go from dripping to bone dry.
(So if the hand dryers beat the movie, you know the movie wasn’t that good!)
Okay, then on Saturday I went shopping at AWear and Primark, went for a run, then went out at night for my flatmate’s birthday. We went to some swanky joints like Ba Mizu and Dakota (one of my favourite swanky joints in Dublin), then headed down to Temple Bar and went to Boomerang. BEN can you believe it? Boomerang is the club owned by Ben’s old bar, Buskers, which is a little commercial/touristy, but all in all good clean fun. Anyway, Boomerang basically remixed my 1995 Jock Jams CD, and the crowd went wild, and so did I!! See, in Europe all my bad music indulgences are satisfied—it takes the guilt out of my guilty pleasures!
Hope everyone’s enjoying their holiday weekend. Can’t wait to hear all about it tomorrow!!!
***I've been reading back through my posts and have realized that spellcheck over here is automatically changing some of my words to UK spellings (I write my blog first in an email so I can automatically spellcheck it...and look like I'm writing an email rather than updating my blog). I PROMISE YOU I'm not becoming Elija Wood eurotrash and trying to spell things funky and adopt the European lexicon and everything. It is my autocheck. Hand to God. Autocheck.
