Since I've started my new job as Bid Procurement Manager at Threefold in Dublin, I've been greeted with a lot of questions about exactly what I do.
A good way to explain it is that I manage our bids and make sure they get out on time and without any flaws whatsoever. From proofreading to leading status meetings to chasing people up for their contributions, or formatting the document, or ensuring everything is branded properly and printed in time...these are all my jobs.
So that's the good way to explain it. Here's the best way: I made this. It's one bid. I do about 4-5 per month.

By the way, it took a truck to get this bid to its destination. And also, don't think I gave the requesting company more than they wanted--all that material was provided upon request.
FRIDAY! I'm broke! Are you broke? Probablly not, because chances are you get paid biweekly like the rest of the Western world. I, on the other hand, am struggling to grapple with this monthly paycheck system. It's funny--I know the rest of the office has problems with it too. It's little things, like you see way more packed lunches the last week of the month, or there isn't so much activity at the expensive candy bar machine, or there's a few more folks walking to the tram at night instead of driving home. As part of that group, I feel like their commander, with my wallet weighing in at a piddling 47c.
Well, so really quickly, my plans for the weekend are to hang out with Fiona--she's got a company car for the weekend and we've got a long list of places to see. Going up into the Wicklow mountains, driving around some costal villages (Bray and Dun Laoghaire), and having brown-bag lunches at Glendalough. It'll be great.
So I hope you have a great weekend. If you haven't checked out google pages yet, please do. It rocks. Barring the fact that I love and use nearly every single google service out there from the first day it comes out...it STILL rocks!
Have a good one!
PS: Special "good luck" message to Evan, who has his first law class today. You'll be great Ev! Also, if you haven't checked out his blog, give it a go: thelawg.com (lol, the name is the brainchild of both of our efforts. i love it!)
