New Apt and Pictures!

I'm finally into the new apt! YIPPEE!

(view from my window)

I'm all moved in and settled, and I love the place more than ANYTHING!

My friend Barbara helped me move in this weekend, and after we got the car unloaded, we went out and explored Temple Bar...which we already know, but it's fun to pretend you're exploring. We went to the Saturday market, we noted all the cafes and restaurants (pubs don't need noting. The district is called Temple Bar, there's one every other store). Then we went for lunch in the Italian District right across the river from my apt and had a very nice lunch. Since Barbara eats only veggies, I was compelled to have a light Italian salad, which was very healthful.

After Barbara left I was able to go pick up a doner kebab, which is what I really wanted. This, my dear friend, is a kebab:

omfg it makes me want one now! It's roasted lambmeat, roasted for hours on a spit, and then stuffed into my mouth. Kebabs are this phenomena over here that are consumed in mass quantities by the Irish and English around 2am on a Saturday, after the pubs closed and you suddenly realize you could eat your own hand off. I haven't had one since I've been back, so I was looooong overdue. :)

Anyway, I spent the rest of the weekend enjoying city centre. I found this little Dean-and-Deluca ultra-upmarket Market called Fallon&Byrne. It's soooooo Ina Garten, I'm in lurve with it. I bought smoked garlic (a whole head of garlic, smoked in a smokehouse--best smell on the entire planet) and a bottle of aged balsamic. It was very chichi, but I thought to myself, in true Ina form, "€15 for a head of garlic and a bottle of balsamic--how bad can that be?"

lol

PICTURES!

You can now find photos of my new apt and its surroundings on my Picasa, which you can access by this link or the link to the right of the post.

Have a great day! Let me know what you think of the new space!
