The Notebook

After a year of waffling, I've decided to finally give Google Notebook a shot. Even though at first glance the webapp seems clumsy and overly complex, I'm wondering if I can make Notebook work for me.

So this morning, I've been futzing--I've added links to recipes that I want to cook tonight, which I can pull up on my computer at home, and a grocery list, which I can print out before I leave tonight and take with me to the shop. I've also got a list of chores that need doing, which I'll open up on Saturday morning and review. It seems there might be a place in Kate's sun for Notebook, afterall.



If you're wondering where this random tech review came from, I've downloaded the Engadget podcast and was listening to it last night, and the disaffected wittiness of these 20-something gearheads left me a little inspired.

Don't worry, though. I'm over it.

Now, as for what I'll be doing this weekend:

• Visiting the Dublin Library for the first time to see what it's all about, maybe join the writers group
• Baking lasagne with homemade sauce and everythin' tonight with ingredients from fancypants Fallon&Byrne market
• Signing up for Jackie Skelly gym...the worst gym name, but the classiest gym in Dub
• Reading The Book Thief at Cafe Moka.
• Signing up for my movie theatre's unlimited movie pass (hooray! weekend highlight!!)

Now, I know it's only Thursday, but this weekend cannot come fast enough! For such a long time now I've dreaded my nights and weekends because it meant more time at home, and I guess I really didn't like my home. But this is the first weekend in months that I can't wait for Friday, and it's so nice to have that feeling back! It's a return to reality, one that I'm really embracing.
