Have you voted? ------>
You should. Obama is gaining in our poll. Maybe you want to change that? Maybe you want to strengthen that lead? Better vote.
You know, that makes me think that we should be able to know the state of the vote on voting day, before we head to the polls. It probablly wouldn't change the mind of stalwart voters, but for those on the fence who were kinda thinking they wouldn't vote at all, maybe that'd make them head out and toss a pebble in for someone. Maybe?
Anyway, it's a grey and rainy day in Dublin, which pales in comparison with what's going on in the midwest right now, so I'm not going to even begin to complain. I heard Ohio got 20" this weekend! Man, you guys have it rough--all this snow, then you know in the span of 2 weeks it'll thaw and turn into blistering 85 degree heat and that'll be summer. That's rough, seriously. Elisa and Boo, I don't have it as good as you guys, but I'm certainly not discounting this rain as being anything but a bit of a nuisance. So, you know, easy Michiganders....easy on me there.
I got up to all good things this weekend. Had a few in the Duke on Friday with some folks, ended the night with a nice honkin' kebab. I felt a little bad for all the folks who left the kebab shop and had to get in expensive taxis and drive 45mins home, because I just walked across the street and fell into bed. But hey, that's city livin', boy!! Oh, also, did 8 Minute Legs when I got home. Bet that was a sight to be seen...
I also went and bought a TON of good reads with some book club buddies this weekend, including Pillars of the Earth, The Obsidian Dagger, The Emperor's Children, Gillead, and a few more-than-necessary classics aka the English Majors tetralogy (Jane Eyre, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, Emma). Also Per Petterson's Out Stealing Horses, my book club read this month.
Anyway, plenty to keep me busy there, eh? Read any and all of those--let me know, we can trade thoughts on em.
So good weekend! Saw the movie In Bruges with Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Feinnes. I can't possibly explain how intense and fabulous this movie is--you'll never, EVER see it coming. I don't know when this is getting to The States because it's an Irish film, but when it does...go. View. Enjoy.
Have a good Monday!
