Is the US Sex and the City mental right now too?
I went out Saturday night in nice white jeans and a blue flowy top and felt pretty hip...until I got to Grafton St and saw the girls pouring into city centre from the suburbs dressed in 100% Carrie Bradshaw-esque skinny jeans with Carrie Bradshaw-esque fancy heels. Never in your life have you seen this many ridiculous, fabulous, over-the-top, splurge heels. Gold stilettos with red polka dot bows, baby blue peep toes with 6" heels, purple patent leather wedges...it was like shoe candy in that city this weekend. People are flocking to the shoe shops and the oddest, most decadent, lavish heels are selling out faster than any sensible flats or comfy sneakers.
And girls' hair is big, their makeup is fierce (I use that now. I love it. Can't stop won't stop.), the nails are done, the gal pals are in tow....essentially, everyone has made themselves into the image of SATC. It's a fever. A hysteria, in the true and estrogen-imlpying sense of the word.
Are the girls back home doing this too? Have you yourself caught the SATC bug?
.....all joking aside, I have my blue and cream leopard print wedges lined up and ready for the premiere this weekend!! :P
It's a cold and rainy Tuesday in Dublin today! Seeing the rain makes everyone here a little nervous. This time last year I posted this weather forecast on the blog:

That forecast stayed in place for 88 days straight. 88 days of pure rain, right through the summer. So yeah, when the sky clouds up here, people get to flinching! But as of right now the forecast is ugly only for the next few days followed by a sunny 3-day weekend. It's the June bank holiday coming up, so I'll be sticking around and relaxing in dear aul Dublintown (2 weekends in Ireland in a row! Imagine!!).
How was your Memorial Day? Did you eat loads of burgers and dogs? Did you have Ruffles chips with that Dean's sour cream and onion dip? Did you pop the top on a can of Bud? If you're feeling a little tight around the belt after a leisurely weekend of munchin', I've got a site for you. caloriecount.about.com is FANTASTIC for keeping track of calories and exercise. They literally have every single food and exercise I use, and the layout is really really simple. Also it's free, and doesn't skimp on the perks just because it's free. I've tested out a dozen or so calorie sites and always end up ditching them, but this one I've kept up with. Also, it has TONS of users, so the forums are used a ton and are very helpful in keeping you motivated. Check it out, and if you do check it out look me up on ktomkie and friend me! :)
Have a great Tuesday back at work!
