Back in the Game

I'M BACK!

What a great 3-day weekend! The weather was a perfect 70 degrees and sunny all weekend, making it easy to imagine I was having my own little Irish Memorial Day weekend over here. I had a great time cooking, shopping, simming, in addition to 3 fantastic day trips.

On Friday I saw Sex and the City with a coupla folks and went for wine and tapas. THAT MOVIE WAS AWESOME!! I have an unlimited movie pass so I think I'll go see it again, just for kicks. I LOVED when Steve and Miranda got back together, and I thought the vacation to Mexico was sooooo funny. Did you find yourself talking a lot during the movie? I always have an open dialogue with SATC when it's on tv and apparently also when it's on the big screen. I was gasping and laughing and going "oh no he di'int" and the whole thing. It was a blast.

On Saturday I went out to Powerscourt Castle with Stephen. We had a picnic on the front lawn and then walked around the castle grounds for a few hours. The gardens are amazing--a Japanese garden, a rose garden, fountains and ponds and mountain views. Then we came home and I baked homemade healthy-style lasagna and we had a few beers and watched Eagle vs Shark, an awesome movie if you haven't already seen it.

Sunday we went out to Howth fishing village and took a walk around the piers and city front. We had a fish n chips and a stray collie followed me around looking for a bite. It harkened back to another time I found myself in Howth surrounded by dogs. Then we went to the Polish market in town and I showed Stephen the Polish mecca: pierogi and kielbasa. He did not know what these things were. He knows now.

Monday was gorgeous AGAIN and we went down to the Long Ships Festival on the Liffey. Once a year old high seas sailboats sail from around Europe into Dublin harbour. Craft and food stalls go up and people turn out for a little sun and piracy. It was really cool, I got an eyepatch and toured the boats with it on, which caused for a total lack of depth perception and yes, I did hit my head on a boom. But also I found a long ship you can take a 10 day cruise on to all these pirate ports of call and stuff. It looks amaaaazing, but its £500, lil steep.

Anyway, I wrapped up the weekend with a some dress shopping for Laura's wedding and little sims in front of the tv (dont hate just cuz i have a hobby) and a skype call to the bf. What a great weekend! It's nice coming back into work after a 3-day weekend, it's almost as if I don't mind work so much today. Almost. I think the world should run on the 3-day weekend paradigm!

The entire weekend was so gorgeous I had to take pictures. I've diligently posted them here as always, so check them out when you get a chance!

Back to the grind. Good Tuesday!
