Went to County Donegal (DUN-ee-gol) this weekend in northwest Ireland.
Oh my gosh, I've been missing out! Donegal is by far the most beautiful county in Ireland. Mountains, forests, glens, lakes, beaches and coastline, it has it all.
Photos here. I'll post some videos tomorrow too so stay tuned. Here's the highlights:
We took the train to Armagh on Friday and stayed there, then on Saturday went out to Donegal town and drove up the west coast of Donegal. Donegal town has a castle, which was cool:

On the way around the coast we drove through the Glen Gesh Pass, a beautiful valley between two mountains filled with green grass and grazing sheep. It was deathly peaceful and quiet and so, so beautiful.

We drove past a sign for Kerrytown:

But Kerrytown ended up being pretty effing sparse:

Gweedore along the coast was rustic and beautiful:

Drove through mountains and around lakes all Sunday, winding around the most northern tip of the county.

Visited Malin Head, the most northerly point of Ireland. It is farther north than Newfoundland!

Came home and tucked into bed. What a great weekend!
Back to the grind today though. There have already been two ass-whoopings delivered in my general vicinity this morning, and I'm sure I'll not evade it for long since I have a 3pm meeting with the grumpy CEO today. Ah, but at least this weekend I had Donegal!
Have a great Monday!
