Oh, The Usual Aimless Rambling

So I've been messing around with Google's new webrowser Chrome (beta) this morning. Meh. It's okay but I'm not impressed enough to make it my default browser. The coolest feature is that the URL line doubles as a google search with autofill, so you can just type the name of whatever you're looking for and some site is bound to come up. Yeah that's nice. But otherwise the thing is pretty boring. Nah, don't try it out just yet.

So hellooooo. I hear it's warm in the States. Well poop on you. It's 50 degrees here, windy and rainy today. Don't even tell me about your 80-degree so-called misery. I've got no time for that! I've been wearing sweaters all summer long! In fact, I'm just going to tell you this: I have a farmer's tan! A FARMER'S TAN! On a 25-year old girl. It ain't right.

So last night I accidentally stayed up waaaay too late watching this show on the BBC where they give a cash-strapped couple £12,000 and then make the groom plan the wedding in three weeks without even having contact with the bride. Meanwhile the bride has to sit around with her friends wondering what her husband-to-be is planning. Generally, the groom is overwhelmed, the bride is stressed out and upset, and I am entertained. The last one I watched last night though was magical. The groom pulled off a beautiful wedding with even the perfect dress and the music she had always wanted. She was so happy and they were so in love, and he cried, and she cried, and the wedding cried, and I.....um, enjoyed the program. Hey I'm not letting you in on my TV viewing secrets!! :P

Anyway, so today is a friend's birthday at work and everyone is taking him out for a special lunchtime treat. Something really nice, to say how much we care. We're going to the new KFC in town. I'm not even kidding. I know it's new to them and that masks its trashiness a little, but for a birthday?!?! LOL, okay then. The funny part is they were going to take him to a TGI Friday's somewhere in Dublin (yeah we have a Friday's. I know.) because it's new and exciting too, but he wanted none of it because he's been to the US and was unimpressed with it there. So....the KFC he loves, the Friday's he's not a fan of. I can't see where the logic lies.

Anyway I'm getting a jumbo bucket with a chocolate parfait for lunch. Holla! LOL, no, I heard somewhere awhile back that KFC chickens are raised without heads and feet and live in squalid conditions and never see the light of day, and that is just too sad and crazy for me. PETA had this video footage of the inside of a KFC farm and it was so terrible. All the live birds had to live cramped in walking over dead and disfigured birds, like ones born without feet or beaks but not put down. I can't eat those poor chickens. I'll just have to settle for some mishandled and abused potato wedges instead, with a side of browbeaten slaw and a large congressionally-underrepresented coke. To go.

Have a good Wednesday! Halfway there--keep truckin'!
