NOT a Caribu Friday. Day 17

Tonight was a blast. Talib Kweli was playing at Clutch Cargo, so I went with Julie and a few of her friends to see the most lyrical third of Blackstar. He is phenomenal in concert! AND, his opener, jean grey (sic!) was cool too. For those of you that aren't really familiar with him, download Get By, then dl Definition to get a taste of Kweli and Mos Def.

Anyway, the point is that was fun, and it wasn't an opportunity that would come any day, and if I had sat silent in a cafe for the night it would have passed me by.

This silence is really a lesson in participation. You've got to go get it, it's not going to walk into your Caribu and pull the book out from under your nose.

It's these lessons I never expected. But, like I've said, you can't listen if you're always talking. :)
