Today I had Norah, Evan's corgi over for a girl's day. We went to a few pet stores, took a really long walk on the Cranbrook nature trail and chased Boo around for a little in the apartment. My favorite part was when we took a long drive through Birmingham and Franklin to house hunt. The day was beautiful and we got to enjoy the sun and fresh air. It was nice to turn up the radio and tune out everything else, and No-No had half her loooong body out the window catching up on some spring smells.
Norah's favorite part was when I cleaned the mouse tanks. She was very, VERY interested in what was in those boxes! I think she thought they were chipmunks, which are her favorite chase animal. I've never seen her attention arrested for so long though--I was cleaning cages for about 45 mins, and she was right there the whole time.
Norah made me realize today that it's perfectly okay to enjoy a day solo every once and awhile. While she needed me to get to all those fun places, I know that she wasn't having fun because I was there, she was having fun and I was there.
Anyway, I love the company I keep, and I'm not looking to trade anyone out, but I'm glad that Norah and I got to enjoy an afternoon alone...together. Does that make sense?
Back to our movies and popcorn...Boo's got her head in the popcorn, Norah's sitting on the remote...
