Oh boy Oberto, I've landed! And adjusted (kinda). And commuted (after much ado). And started (in the technical sense).
So the plane was late, yadda yadda. The total commute lasted about 22 hours when it was said and done. SO, although I miss the US dearly, it will take a small army to bring me back at this point. For the moment, I am through with cross-Atlantic travel.
My apartment is adorable, and I have my very own room and my very own bathroom, so I am nested and content. My bathtub has one of those hand-held shower nozzle numbers, so I spend most of my showers with shampoo in my eyes, fishing for the nozzle somewhere on the floor of the tub. Also, everything in my bathroom is chrome and glass (including the shower nozzle), which means I can see my showering self more often than I'd really like. It's a little weird.
I love the accent, and Irish people (the women, mostly) are generally gorgeous. I love that! Unless I'm standing next to them. Or trying to buy jeans designed for them. Or ordering fatty fatty sandwiches for lunch while they pick up a package of pretzels.
Lastly, here is a list of people who I SWEAR cloned themselves and walked down the streets of Dublin in front of me in the last few days:
-Sara Powers
-Abbey and Lydia--both! Twin twins!
-Scott Crowley (twice)
-Evan, but I confess this was just when I was watching the sitcom that Neil Patrick Harris does on UPN. They run the WORST American shows here!
More soon...
