Which I just found out are cape gooseberries. Huh.
So I may have to look at smokestacks and cranes all day instead of a beautiful harbour and mountain, but on Mondays and Wednesdays I’ve got all the cape gooseberries I could possibly desire! That’s Irish hospitality for you!
This weekend was nice. I went shopping and to the club on Friday with Fiona and Sarah Giraud's friend Kate. There’s a story there, but that’s for another time. Email me if you need the details on that one.
Saturday was gorgeous so Fiona and I took the company car out to Glendalough. Glendalough, for those of you who remember, is the site of the infamous Tomkie parking debacle, involving a Fiat with a funky reverse function, my mom, and a crap parallel parking job. It is also where my Mom coerced me onto a tour bus that we did not pay for. They forgave us though, and we later went on to take pictures with their bus driver who quite looked like Jack Nicholson. He even said “Here’s Jonny!” for us.
Glendalough looks like this, but I will post me and Fiona's pics later this week:

Isn’t that pretty? We went at sunset and walked around on the trails for awhile and got our feet wet in the loch, which is really just an inland lake, and I’m from Michigan but not boat-on-credit-inland-lake Michigan, but big-honkin’-Great-Lakes Michigan, so the slimy bottom just grossed me out.
Anyway, after a white knuckle drive home through the switchback country roads, we enjoyed some junk food on the couch and went to bed. Sunday was gorgeous too, so I, true to my UofM roots, put on my two-piece and headed to the park. I proved my Irish heritage by getting pretty pink, though. Somehow I sunburned both my knees. How does one sunburn just a knee?
So that was my weekend. And here’s my Monday: I BOOKED MY TRIP TO LONDON! Aren’t I being jetsetty? I was just checking tickets today on a lark and they’re only €65 right now, which is a steal. My trip will be July 19-22. Yay!
I’m posting my google calendar on my blog that has my travel dates on it and other useful calendar information. It will come in handy for those of you who need to know my schedule.
HAVE A GOOD MONDAY!
I WANT THE CLUBBING STORY!!!
