It's official: I GOT MY VISA! It came through yesterday afternoon and I was received into a twittering room of HR girls to hear the good news.
I am so excited and thrilled I get to live out my dream of being in Ireland!! However, I canNOT wait to get home for a few good reasons, including friends, familiarity, and the big F-word: FOOD! (you didn't think I was gonna say---shame on you!)
I can't wait for Olgas, shwarmas, Amercian Coke, crunch wrap supreme (Allie, you and me are buying these with pennies from your car like we usually do). I'm excited to get Clark's ice cream and walk around Berkley with Norah, and to cook Polish brats with kraut on the back porch with my family. Yum!!! And, of course, Kaitlyn and I will be doing daily Olga's snackers runs from when I get in until when I leave---and if they hold the spread, so help me God, I will have to hurt someone.
Anyway! Last night was great--I spent a nice long time cooking, which I love. After dinner I went for one of my hour-long walks which is my new and feeble attempt at exercise. But you know what? I walk really fast and take a lot of hills and if you walk for an hour every day that has to count for something, right? Kara used to say she swore by walks. I hope they work, because I do NOT want to come home from Ireland all portly and jolly! I am aiming for semi-svelt.
And now, I have a confession to make: I bought my ticket already....

...LAST SUNDAY.
I can't help it--I'm so excited! And all the opening day shows were almost sold out when I bought my ticket! Do you understand--I'm in the land of Harry Potter! Consider this study prep for my trip to London next weekend. People here ride dragons to work and play quidditch on the weekends; this movie is bringing to life all the daily realities of living in and around the UK.
I could be lying.
But whatever: Harry Potter premiers tomorrow here and I cannot wait. I know Elisa re-read the last book recently to get ready--people are prepping. People are excited. And in this instance, I am definately people.

ok i get the feeling that we'll each need a basket of snackers to tide us over each day. cuz lord knows i don't want to get in your way while diving in for some of that spread...my hand will probably get bitten off.
