I went shopping last night at Lidl, the Swedish grocery version of Ikea. The whole store is bright blue and yellow, much like everything in Sweden (anyone ever flown into a Swedish airport?). It's filled with imported treats that are usually pretty cheap and sometimes come in bulk, again, like Ikea.
WELL. I was in the process of buying the ingredients to make noodle kugel (a traditional eastern European noodle custard dish. I'll make it for you sometime, it's gooood) when things took a sudden turn.
Because I found the Danish hot dog section.
Please refer to this post for my feelings on Danish hot dogs.
I combed the cooler for the perfect dogs, and then I found this package.

LOOK AT THE TOP. Is it just me, or does this pack of hot dogs look more like a lifestyle choice than a food product? Was this packaging artwork scammed off a prophelactic company? What does the smiling couple have to do with a pre-cooked, processed meat phalice? And do you see the word in black at the top that crowns the image?
And, oh God, imagine the packaging in full effect with 4 pink wieners inside! Now imagine me keeping a straight face, standing there in Lidl. Can't do it? Yeah, neither could I.
LOL
So I gotta say, that was the highlight of my day. Because to be honest, when you manange to find a pack of wieners with an affectionate couple on the front, that's as good as a Wednesday gets. Even in Ireland.
