One thing I can appreciate about Europe is that the music I like gets airtime on big radio stations.
Sure, some funky euro pop also gets tossed in the playlists, but you muster through and hold tight because a good song is just around the corner. It's refreshing to turn on the radio and expect good music--I wasn't getting that on my stations in Detroit.SO, here's some of the music on my headphones that I'm recommending you check out--maybe you have some for me to check out, too? Let me know!
One Republic, Apologize
This features Timbaland, so I'm guessing those of you in the States have probablly heard of it already. The video is wack, so I suggest you click the link then alt tab out of danger!
Leona Lewis, Bleeding Love
Story on Leona: Leona won X factor last year, Simon Cowell's show that inspired American Idol. Then Leona dissapeared and no one heard from her for a year. Then the papers said she had been busy getting insanely popular in the States (I doubt this). Now she released this single last week and she's a HIT. Now.....I love this song. It's everything Whitney and Mariah and Celine and if you were around in the 80s and 90s and had your radio on, well, then there's no way you won't like this song too. NOTE: lyrics are creepy and a little offensive.
Rooney, When Did Your Heart Go Missing?
Mundy and Sharon Shannon, Galway Girl
Little zydeco, little country, little Irish (Allie, does this remind you of the downtown song from Sims? you know what I'm talking about)
The Coronas, San Diego Song
I like it....I can only imagine how much Hollister stores are abusing this song, but fortunately I'm 2000 miles away from the closest Hollister, so I'm liking it.
Kaiser Chiefs, Ruby
YES!
Saw Doctors, I Useta Love Her
OY-RISH! Saw doctors also sang a song called Red and Green of Mayo, an county in Connaught, the west. It's....well, Irish. Check it out.
Weekend plans: Go to the Collins Barracks Museum of Ireland, little Christmas shopping, little me shopping. :)
And with that, have a great weekend!
I'm wishing for a long black jacket, just like the one you have...come to think of it where is that black jacket of yours?
ReplyDeleteIt would be a pity to have it here and not have it being worn.
and as for hoping, its the one thing i've always had, don't take that away.
