Moooonday

Hopefully the week of madness is behind me and I can get back to doing the mundane stuff that I'm accustomed to filling my days with. So hurray for that!

Now, I've told you again and again that it can be windy where I work, but I don't know if you're really catching my drift. I work halfway up a mountain, with the sea on the other side. The wind hurtles down the mountain out to sea. It slams up against my building and shakes it--we find ourselves in the office raising our voices to talk over the sound of it. When I walk to work, it sometimes stops me walking or forces me backwards a step. It makes for a very intense commute. When you get in and sit down, you feel like you've just been battered for 20 minutes. To be honest, it's a little too intense for my tastes.

But no matter! Today I have to tell you about the movie Be Kind Rewind, which I saw this weekend. It's eh. Cute performance by Mos Def (I just wanted him to bust out with "one two three, its mos def and talib kweli..." but it never happened). Jack Black plays--you guessed it--unhinged funny man. If a weak comedy line and overused reviving-an-inner-city-locale theme are what you're looking for, this is your movie.

Ohhhh my god. I have to tell you too that I gave in and tried the embarassing workout that everyone does but no one admits to. The 8 minute workout. 8 Minute Legs and 8 Minute Buns. I know quite a few people who are entirely devoted to the 80's workout regimen, and sure enough, there is definately some merit to their closet obsession. Becuase I am S-O-R-E! Good lord, I couldn't WALK DOWN STAIRS yesterday! I can't believe how much of a workout you can get out of an 8 minute tape! If you're looking to try it out yourself, search for your flavor (there's abs, arms, buns, legs, and more) on youtube. Oh, and be sure to laugh hard at the 80's unitards and Who's the Boss hair-do's.

Hope your weekend was good too! I can't wait to dive into all my celeb goss sites and find out what the skinny was on the Oscars! I really thought they'd play them here, but I guess that didn't happen, or if it did it was at like 2am our time. Anyway, let me go check in--I've got my fingers crossed for good things for The Savages, Juno and No Country for Old Men.

Good Monday!
