Newsday Tuesday

That 2:30 am bedtime was a bad call. But how can I help but stay up late when I have a girl in my house telling me about ghosts? It was Stephen's friend visiting from Australia who is by far one of the coolest folks I've ever met and had some really interesting insight into the hereafter. Very neat.

Okay, but today I have big things to tell you:

1. If you like watching what other people are watching, you gotta check out these sites I found this morning:

FriendFeed is built by former Google designers and keeps you updated on your friends' sites such as Flickr, Amazon wish lists, blogs, del.icio.us tags, even NetFlix queues! It's pretty stalkery, but you only put the stuff up that you want to be viewable, so there's a lot of built in control.

Google Shared Stuff is, for google fuh-reaks like me, pretty awesome. Think of it as a personal RSS for everything you're doing on the web. You add a button to your browser window, and whenever you're on a site that you want to share, you click the button and a link, small pic and optional description are added to your Shared Stuff page, which has its own RSS. It'd be a cool way to stay in touch with faraway folks as it gives them some insight into what you're finding interesting lately. Also, if you're smart and are using Google Reader, you can add their RSS to your Reader page and say peruse their shared stuff along with your news sources with your morning cup of joe. :)

FYI, I'm trying out both sites just for kicks (can't see keeping up with FriendFeed, but if Shared Stuff takes off I'd much rather stay on top of that than keep up with my Facebook and MySpace accounts). You can find me on FriendFeed as katetomkie and Google Shared Stuff as ktomkie@gmail.com .

Thing number two that I wanted to share was:

KARA'S COMIN' OVER!

June 19th, ticket is booked! I am so excited! I can't even tell you! We're going to travel around and maybe visit another country for a couple of days too, who knows. I can't wait!

Okay, so the third thing I wanted to tell you about was this:

I'M GOING TO AMSTERDAM!

I'm going in May with Stephen and two of his gal pals. Again, tickets are booked! It should be a lot of fun with a little sightseeing and a little debauchery thrown in, and I can't wait to get back to Scandinavia which I thought was spectacularly gorgeous when I was in Denmark in August.

So lots of great things today! Keep your chin up! Tomorrow's already Wednesday, and the weekend isn't too far away!
