Hong Kong, JFK, Galway, Dublin

Oh man I just got Rick Roll'd on a supposed link to the youtube teen beating video. That seems so innappropriate! Do you think there should be some limits to practical jokes? That seems pretty distasteful.

Anyway, hellllloooo! La la la! My folks are in town, and while losing two bags in JFK airport has cast a wide, unending, constantly-talked-about shadow on their first days in Dublin, hopefully the luggage comes through soon and their moods lift. I think the older you get, the more difficult it becomes to roll with punches like that. Maybe. Dunno. Whatever, doesn't matter, because they brought me Reese's pb cups and ain't nothin gonna bring my sugar-induced mood down! :)

Anyway, so tomorrow I head out to Galway to meet them to go to the Aran Islands. It should be a great holiday, I can't wait!

And things have really picked up at work, meaning I am quite a bit happier. I like having things to keep me busy and I've been given a little bit more responsibility which shows me they're beginning to put more trust in me. All very good things!

Now, couple of congrats are in order:

Congratuations to Allie for getting a BOOK DEAL! She'll be working with a writer in Birmingham to illustrate a children's book. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Also congratulations to Kaitlyn for getting the Operations Employee Leadership award at work! What a great accolade--that'll look fabulous on your resume, and be sure to send the award this way so I can have it bronzed and made into a Flava Flav neckpiece for you! :)

Now, it's time to go get some Hong Kong panfried noodles for lunch. Spicy, spicy goodness. I got a couple of books last night from Amazon, one of them being Eat This Not That. It has sooo many helpful tips on healthier alternatives to the common down and dirty favorites like cheeseburgers, sundaes, cheeseburger sundaes and more. And given what the book has to say about healthy vs. unhealthy sauces, I think my Hong Kong noodles fall into the "Eat This" rather than the "Not That" category. Hooray!

Have a good Thursday!
