IN LESS THAN A MONTH!!
OMG I am so excited! I can hardly type right now. The CEO just pulled 6 staffers into the board room and told us the news!!! Apparently, the telecoms market is waning in Ireland, but things are picking up quite a bit in NZ. My company has a lot of ties to New Zealand telecoms through some of its higher ups, who all worked in NZ telecoms for years together.
Anyway, they're looking for a dynamic team to go down and start off a new satellite office. They picked us because we're all relatively young, unattached, and it's pretty obvious I'm willing to move around. I'll be IN CHARGE of establishing positive PR for our company in NZ, and writing all the new marketing docs, government docs, new website, etc. for our New Zealand branch! IN CHARGE!
Oh yeah, and they're giving us each €11,000 relocation compensation PLUS raises to account for he change in currency and someone told me they think we're flying first class down there!
We'll be based in Auckland on the North Island. If anyone has been to New Zealand before, PLEASE email me to tell me about it!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I've already been looking up pictures and info, and while Auckland is a huge city, it also has plenty of this:
Now, this is going to put me very, VERY far from the US, but I have to admit I have already accepted the position. It means that I won't see the States more than once a year TOPS (tickets are around $3,000 or more), and also those of you with trips planned here will unfortunately have to reschedule things, but maybe you can come down to New Zealand? I don't know--I don't know, this is all so new, I haven't figured anything else out.
So we leave on the 26th and they're working on finding us temporary accomodation there. I have just 4 weeks to pack up my life....again.....and get it down there. OMG! I'LL BE LIVING IN NEW ZEALAND!!!!!! HOW AWESOME?!!!! I cannot WAIT! What an amazing Tuesday!!!!!!!!
