YAY! Stephen bought a Wii this wiikend. It's a lot of fun, and I'm also learning a lot about my flatmates hidden ultra-competitivness. We started our wii gaming with a friendly game of golf, and I birdied the first hole by some dumb luck. He was more than dejected, actually said, "beaten by a GIRL." So the second hole I bogied, he birdied and as the wii ball drops into the wii hole he drops his remote, thrusts his fists out at me and shrieks, "I BEAT YOU!"
LOL. This coming from benevolent Stephen! It was pretty funny, and I'm sure we're looking at many, many more hours of competitive fun. After seeing the excitement on his face after that second hole, I'll definitely be "dropping the ball" more often. You just can't deny someone that much happiness.
So I also went up to the Dublin Castle this weekend. I have to confess I've been living a block away from it for 6 months and haven't been. Turns out it's really gorgeous! The grounds are beautiful and the architecture is a blend of gothic, classical, tudor, and everything in between. The castle grounds also house the Chester Beatty Library. Chester was a rich Irish (well, English) guy who collected antiquities from around the world. When he died in the 60's they built a museum for his collection and opened it free of charge to the public. It is a GOOD museum--it has Rembrandt sketches, Egyptian bible texts from 275AD, ancient Chinese story scrolls and more. I was very, very impressed that this has all been sitting in my backyard, there for me to explore whenever I please.
SO it was a good weekend! And not just for me--a good weekend for Evan too. Afterall, he GOT INTO UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN LAW SCHOOL!! Go Ev! And everyone be sure to congratulate him, too. That's the 11th best law program in the country! Atta boy!
Now, I've loaded up my RSS feed today to keep you happy, informed and entertained so do be sure to check it out on the right there or here at my RSS page. As for keeping me happy today, I've got one thing on the mind: HOME IN 12 DAYS. w00t!
Good Monday!
