This was a good weekend:
Friday went to Porterhouse Microbrewery in Temple Bar for an office going away party. During the night we ended up having shots of Mickey Finns booty-nasty sugary liquor. Do we have that in the States? Don't venture to try it. It's like sour pucker only...sweet pucker. Blah. And it's a one-way ticket to headache hangovertown. But super fun night tho! :)
Saturday went to National Botanic Gardens with Stephen. Very beautiful and you wouldn't believe how many greenhouses the place had! You'd think with this much rain and sun interchanged you could grow anything you wanted without the aid of a greenhouse. But then...well...I guess the bananas in the banana house would suffer without the 90 degree heat they're enjoying. Okay. And the cactus wouldn't be thrilled with the 18" of rain we've gotten. Yeah. But the moss house, we could do away with that for sure!
Oh it was such a beautiful day and the park is amazingly gorgeous. Have a look at the pictures I posted on Picasa.
Saturday night I went out to Leah, Jane and Jenney's house for a few drinks with people. There were a lot of folks there who work for Google and MAN do they have a nice setup! That company takes care of their people. The only downside to working for Google I could foresee are the droves of complaints you'd endure from other people envying you! You should have heard everyone small-talking about Google, then going, "Oh MAN my job doesn't do that! My job makes me pay for parking! My job has crappy social events! My job makes me wear a bucket on my head!" It went on and on. It was pretty hilarious. Anyway we had a good time there, always fun.
Sunday I..........well I'm going to be honest. I was pretty lazy. I went to Queen of Tarts for breakfast, a really, REALLY cute scone and cafe type shop with fresh baked stuff all around and flowers and general delicious girliness. Then I picked up Spore, the new EA game on the way home. I can't lie, it is so much fun! So between that and studying for the GRE, my day was quickly consumed.
Great weekend! It bolstered my spirits for another cruddy week in the jorb. Hope you're having a great Monday. See you tomorrow!
oh and if you're bored, doesn't FusionBrands have the coolest kitchen gadgets?
thats funny i was just looking at all the fusion brand stuff online. I read about it from that daily candy site. Really cool stuff, reminds me of prylons.
ReplyDeleteuh, i have some questions. how many trussing tools does a girl need? if you have to truss your sushi, you're doing it wrong. and that ice orb--it's downright naughty looking. where can i get one? actually, i think some clever marketer has multipurposed an entire good vibrations catalog. i can't think of a dirty thing to do with the poacher. i'm chastened.
