First of all, today marks 7 years since the 9/11 attacks. I cannot believe it's been 7 years. Here in Ireland, there is hardly a thought given to it. No newspaper mention--only a few Irish people have commented to me about it even. It's funny to think how quickly the 7 years went by.

Oddee.com has posted a series of interesting and extremely unfortunate pieces of pre-9/11 advertising featuring the towers. It makes you think about how much has changed since then.

On a happier note, I want to say congratulations to Evan for TWO big accomplishments yesterday. First off, he made UM Law Review, one of the most prestigious law journals in the country. Secondly he was offered an associateship with a firm in Seattle, WA. GO EVAN!

Okay secondly, a belated congratulations goes to Allie for officially moving to Chicago! Allie will be rocking out as an assistant to a graphich designer in the windy city. Go Monk!

So there you go. Now, if you're not a wildly successful law student or graphic designer assistant with a million things to do, tell me, what are you up to this weekend? I'll be going to see the opera Samson and Delila with my friend Claire, she's scored some tix for us. Then Saturday I'm going to the National Botanical Gardens of Ireland for what they're giving as a sunny autumn day. I don't know what to expect from the botanical gardens. They could be uber fancy to try to keep up with the standards set on the continent. Or they could be full of sheep. You never know here. For example, when I flew to Galway for a weekend, the plane landed in a field full of sheep, security provided by a handmade rock wall. A tractor pulled us into the airport, which was a tractor hanger. That.......is Ireland.

So then Saturday night I'm going up to the costal suburb of Marino to visit some friends for some dinner and board games, should be fun. Then Sunday is for finishing my book, "March", and doing GRE. GREAT WEEKEND!

Almost there.....home stretch! Have a great Thursday!
