So another coworker announced her engagement today! It's so exciting--there is something in the water here in Michigan. Engagement Potion #9. That's the 5th engagement in a year for me! It's awesome: I'm surrounded by shiny, shiny diamonds and happy fiances. And please don't worry that I'm suffering from not being one of their shiny-ringed party. Evan's heading into Law School and we have no engagement plans, because it's like he and I said today: It's MUCH better to be engaged to a lawyer than a law student. :) So nothing on my horizon...I don't think.
Anyway, I've been accused of being pretty vague in my blog lately, so I thought I'd get a little more specific tonight and lay it all out: Yes, I have given up my silence. I realized that my wanting to be silent was really a means to get to what I was really looking for, which was solitude. I realized that it's important for a gal or anyone to learn how to enjoy their own company and to be self sufficient. While silence was a vehicle for solitude, it wasn't what I was really looking for. Anyway, now I'm talking, and I will go out occasionally with people now too, but my days are really experiments in enjoying time on my own. I coffee shop, window shop, write and have all sorts of projects going on. It's been really nice!
And by the way, thanks to everyone who had good kate-with-kate ideas for me. I've got some real gems to try out!
Other than that, I have to tell you: I have a bomb-diggity french bread recipe goin' on right now. I've made it 3 times and it just doesn't stop being delicious. Here, I share with you, you're welcome, you're welcome:
French Bread for Bread Makers
for 2-lb loaf. Place in bread pan in this order:
- 1 1/2 c warm water
- 2 tbsp veggie oil
- 4 c all-purpose flour (I use unbleached becuase my body is a big ol' temple)
- 2 tbsp salt (I use kosher....again, huge temple)
- 1 package active dry yeast (about 2 1/2 tsp)
And bake it up!! And eat! And nourish yo temple.
