Belgian Chocolate spiggot! This is installed next to the hot water tap over every sink in Brussels. That's a fact... So, anyone have any chocolate preorders??? :)
Brussels is the home of the Art Nouveau style, and the Horta House (above) is the epoch of that style. As a long-time watcher of HGTV and therefore design expert ;), I owe it to myself to pay a visit.

Le Mannequin-Pis: I bet once you see this statue then read it's name, you'll have learned a little French. For some reason this odd fountain has become the symbol of Brussels. I can only imagine what kind of souvenir magnet Kaitlyn will be getting this weekend...

Bruges and Ghent are two main Belgian cities both famous for their marshy waterways. Like a French-speaking Venice...with chocolate...and beer....and no mosquitos, both cities are said to be absolutely stunning when the fog rolls in, which seems to be a regular occurence.
Ah! YAY! Okay! So I'm going to get back to the job, but this has made it infinitely easier to do so! It's great to treat youself and break away from the grind when you can afford it. Even when you can't afford it, there's always something you can afford. I remember me and Elisa going bonkers over little tubs of Ben&Jerry's, and Evan emailed the other day to tell me he got a free burrito. LOL. Treats come in all shapes, sizes, and apparently flavors... :)
With that being said, I'm going to go treat myself to a job well done. Good Tuesday!
omg i better get that magnet now.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the female version of Manneken Pis. It is called Janneken Pis and is situated in the Impasse de la Fidelité or Getrouwheidsgang in Flemish, a small dead-end street near the Rue des Bouchers.

Have fun and make sure to visit the Atomium, a great sight when the sun is shining!
Both Bruges and Ghent are not French- but Dutch-speaking! Have you actually been there?
